Jan 31, 2019 · I have the same FTE problem with a Security 9 Compact I picked up a Ruger Security 9 Compact in May of this year. Good reviews and good heritage (I own several Ruger pistols). I got 3 FTE's in the first 200 rounds and chalked it up to break-in. (Although I have only had an issue with break-in one other time and it was not Ruger). Security 9 light strike issue resolved, finally! I bought a new Security 9 a few months ago and from day one I had light strike issues with it. Lately it's been 2-3 times per mag which is pretty bad. Today was the first time I got a chance to shoot the Security 9 after the three upgrades. Those were a Senechal trigger, Hogue grip sleeve and stainless steel guide rod with factory weight 17 lb spring. My impressions after firing 75 rounds today: The trigger is much better.

My wife says she don't see it, but IMO, the loading ramp on in the center is tapered (narrow on the bottom + wider at top. This is the Security 9 with the feed problems. Problems with the Security 9.
