The Global Shapers Warsaw Hub members are of a wide range of backgrounds, careers and interests. We are entrepreneurs, activists, consultants, social entrepreneurs and academics — among others.
We warmly welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We believe that the strength of our Hub depends on its diversity.
The Warsaw Hub is not about superficial networking; real friendship is our aim. Whatever your passions, there will be members of the Hub who share your interests, and want to help and challenge you to achieve your ambitions.
We also undertake projects together that benefit our community here in Warsaw. Past projects have focused on community arts and outreach, and environmentalism. These are just some of the areas that our members are interested in. We are committed to enhancing the skills and impact of the people within our group and networks, and we welcome new members with a vision for projects that the Hub can undertake or assist with.
Aside from projects, the extraordinary convening power of both the World Economic Forum and our own members allow us to organise and attend events with world-class speakers and other participants. Moreover, membership of the Hub provides opportunities to engage with the broader World Economic Forum community. Global Shapers are eligible to apply to attend the Annual Meeting in Davos, regional Forum events and Global Shaper-specific regional events.
Who we are looking for?
There are two basic eligibility criteria: (1) you must be aged between 20 and 29; and (2) you must be able to meet in Warsaw once per month and have the time and desire to actively engage with the group in general.
Beyond this, we assess applications according to 4 criteria:
It varies by age and sector. We’re looking for candidates who have established a track record of leadership and impact in their field.
Again, we calibrate potential depending on age and sector. We’re seeking people who can demonstrate potential to be real leaders in their fields.
A key part of the Shapers’ mission is to be a community that cares about having a positive impact on our communities and the world. We believe this can be manifested in many different ways, but we expect candidates to be able to articulate what they care about and how they make a difference (whether in their jobs or otherwise).
An active membership is the lifeblood of the Warsaw Hub. We’re looking for individuals who want and are able to commit to engaging in the Hub’s activities.
